The level took one minute off his ever dwindling clock. This time around he’d thrown two in Faith and one in Insight. He still had the instinct he’d woven over his life telling him the latter would be key to his path.

When he hit Level 25 he hoped for a Sub-Class that actually gave him Attributes to Insight directly without having to use his free ones.

He had a Skill increase or two but had no time to look nor see his [System Template]. He had slid his eyes open for a moment to find his two throwing blades at his feet, and the small Dragonling at L’Sana’s, throwing a tiny clawed finger in a thumbs up motion. He smiled and doubly so when he saw her bond trembling on her back going through her Level up.

Eyes closed once more. Time to get to work. He pulled the wood and metal hook into his hands then deep dove into his mind, Will and Insight, the tools, his new Ability [Rune Forging – Umbral], the medium.

Immediately, as his Ability activated, his mind was deluged with the sight of runic formations dancing midst what had to be, his soul? It was a dark place, heaving mist like clouds of swirling grays striated with ebony swirls of intent, only one object breaking the endless void, a pillar.

He slipped closer and took in the monumentous obsidian object. It reached from deep within the core of who he was to an endless sky that seemed limitless in its depth, and within his vision, it was coated in thousands upon thousand of Umbral Runes. All shapes and sizes permeated the concrete of its existence with a complexity far beyond his understanding. He didn’t even know if he could of shifted to this place without his new Ability's presence.

Luckily, full comprehension was not what he needed, only the opportunity to accomplish what was the bare seed to birth. He shifted out of the place he existed within and sent his mind into the items gripped tightly in his hands, Will flexing and pulling, letting his Insight subconsciously do what needed doing. Spirit flickered.

That was the choice he’d made, Stamina and Spirit, forgoing Mana, the Intellectual Path. Some chose one path, riding the saddle one over the other two. He’d chosen a duality, Martial/Spiritual and it was time to see what the combination could do.

He had a feeling his new Ability [Rune Forging – Umbral] was the fulcrum to the divide between the two, that it utilized both Spirit and Stamina depending on how you utilized its gifts.

The overlay of his sight he’d already experienced took fuel from Stamina but for what he planned, creation and incorporation of the dark runes he’d seen, Spirit would be the main impetus to its fruition.

Time was not his friend so he knew this would be a quick and dirty job, not one of beauty but one of rough and tumble necessity.
